Fixing Wi-Fi dead spots
Wi-Fi dead spots cause real problems in an office or restaurant: mobile apps and POS systems can't reach the network, causing data transmission errors. Switching to the nearest router when signal is weak resolves this.
Guest and staff network separation
Keeping all devices on one network is risky for a small-to-medium business, increasing exposure to bad actors. VLANs via UniFi (UCG) split guest access from staff access, keeping staff devices secure.
Guaranteed bandwidth
A standard ISP router struggles past around 50 connected devices — it starts dropping connections, and staff devices are left without enough bandwidth to work properly. A UCG setup can be configured to guarantee bandwidth for work devices, giving them priority over guest traffic.
